[edit] Appearance
Pimple's skin has changed in appearance a few times over the course of the series. He began with a medium shade of green, just like the other two 'Toads, and appears that way on the original box art. In the first game itself his skin was a darker shade of green, matching Rash but not Zitz. His skin was later changed to a light tan before finally being presented with a brown color for his skin, which is now considered his official skin color. He appears with his current color in Battletoads & Double Dragon and Super Battletoads.
Pimple is the largest 'Toad. He wears spiked black kneepads and spiked black arm braces. Early artwork depicted him wearing a spiked black belt, but he was never seen wearing this belt in any of the games and later artwork eliminated the belt. According to his Super Battletoads profile he stands at a height of seven feet and four inches.
[edit] Attacks/Weapons
Pimple is all about brute force. Like the other two 'Toads, Pimple is able to use "Smash Hit" attacks wherein a part of his body (such as his arm) transforms into a weapon, but Pimple uses attacks that disregard strategy or flash and focus on raw power. Unlike the other two 'Toads, Pimple seems to prefer his fists, rarely attacking with his feet (though his running attack is a head-butt). His Smash Hits usually involve his fists changing into blunt objects such as a cinder block or a giant hammer. His signature move, "The Wun-Tun Stomp," is one of the only attacks in which he uses his foot, which changes into an anvil as he stomps on an enemy.
[edit] Game History
Pimple has at least appeared in every Battletoads game, but not always as a playable character. He was out of action in both the original Battletoads game and Battletoads (Game Boy), having been kidnapped prior to the start of both games. His first appearance as a playable character was in Battletoads in Battlemaniacs in which he was player one's character. He continued to be a playable character in Battletoads & Double Dragon and Super Battletoads and is immediately selectable in both games.
[edit] Origin
Pimple was originally a human named George Pie. Pie was a computer technician who worked with his two friends and roommates, Dave Shar (who would become Rash) and Morgan Ziegler (who would become Zitz). The trio tested the original Battletoads game by playing the game as the 'Toads in a sort of vitrual reality simulation. Pie and his friends became suspicious of both their boss and chief game programmer Silas Volkmire and decided to investigate the office at night. Upon finding the video game unit turned on, they decided to test the machine to see if it had been tampered with. Not until it was too late did they realize this was a trap and they were transported to another planet, permanently transformed into the 'Toads en route. The Dark Queen attempted to persuade the 'Toads to work for her, but the 'Toads refused and fought their way to freedom with the assistance of Professor T. Bird, who became the 'Toads' friend and mentor. The 'Toads then decided never to rest until the Dark Queen was defeated once and for all.
[edit] Position in the Battletoads' Team
Pimple is the team's muscle. He leaves the talking to Rash and Zitz and speaks with his fists.
[edit] Game Appearances
[edit] Battletoads (NES/Genesis/GG/GB)
Pimple was only seen in the ending in this game as he was kidnapped prior to the opening stage.
[edit] Battletoads (GB)
Pimple was kidnapped prior to the opening of this game as well, and thus was not playable.
[edit] Battletoads in Battlemaniacs (SNES/SMS)
Pimple was player one's character in this game. His lives and health bar were always displayed at the top left side of the screen.
[edit] Battletoads and Double Dragon (NES/Genesis/SNES/GB)
Pimple is one of five characters who can be selected by either player in this game. His skin color allows players to tell him apart from the other two 'Toads (he is not depicted as being any larger than the other two 'Toads in this game).
[edit] Super Battletoads (Arcade)
Pimple is immediately available in this game. In the three-player arcade cabinet Pimple is assigned the right set of controls (and the corresponding coin slot) while in the two-player arcade cabinet he can be selected by either player.
[edit] Quotes
Pimple has very few in-game quotes as he rarely speaks.
[edit] Battletoads and Double Dragon
Main Dossier: "I may not be smart, but where thinking fails, brute strength prevails!"
[edit] Future Appearances?
If another Battletoads game is ever made it seems quite likely Pimple will appear, though it is less certain whether or not he will be a playable character.
