Perhaps, but laymen are more likely to look for the term pile than the term deep foundations. It may be better to create a redirect from Deep foundation and Piling to Pile. Argyriou (talk) 23:43, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Redirect is not wise. Deep foundations and piles ARE NOT the same thing. Piles are a category in deep foundations. There are multiple different types of deep foundations including piles, drilled shafts, caissons and piers. ~Zuejay 13:37, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
