Pilot Point is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,538 at the 2000 census.

Pilot Point is located at 33°23′47″N, 96°57′31″W (33.396350, -96.958719)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.9 km² (3.0 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 3,538 people, 1,205 households, and 885 families residing in the city. The population density was 447.9/km² (1,160.7/mi²). There were 1,283 housing units at an average density of 162.4/km² (420.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 83.15% White, 4.64% African American, 0.93% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 8.88% from other races, and 2.23% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 14.92% of the population.

There were 1,205 households out of which 41.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.8% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.5% were non-families. 22.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size was 3.33.

In the city the population was spread out with 29.9% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 31.0% from 25 to 44, 17.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.7 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $42,212, and the median income for a family was $47,097. Males had a median income of $31,981 versus $24,531 for females. The per capita income for the city was $18,248. About 8.6% of families and 11.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 16.2% of those under age 18 and 9.8% of those age 65 or over.

On October 8, 1908 several Holiness Christian groups came together and formed The Church of the Nazarene at Pilot Point.
