Welcome to my Wikipedia user page

I'm Pikachu and here's some of the things I like

  • Pokemon (of course)
  • Computers, mobile phones (or cellphones as people in the US call them), and some other aspects of ICT
  • Broadcast transmission towers (the one that fascinates me the most is the Emley Moor tower owned by Arqiva (formerly ntl (National Transcommunications Limited) but the ntl name does still exist) near Huddersfield, UK). The transmission tower that provides TV and radio reception to my area is Bilsdale.
  • CB Radio (I use a different nickname on there, yes it's Pokemon related but not Pikachu related)

I also have an ambition of being a radio DJ, just on a local station though, not a large national station

I own a number of computers and mobile phones, though i use only 3 computers and 2 phones at once:

[edit] Computers in use

[edit] Mobile phones in use

  • Nokia 6230 on vodafone UK, previously on Orange UK (tri-band handset)
  • Motorola V3i on Orange UK (Quad-band handset, works practically anywhere). I'm currently in the process of removing the garbage that Orange branded this phone with, though I've hit a slight snag and now have to wait until I get a computer running Windows XP before I can continue (slight update, No longer need to wait for a Windows based machine as I can now do most of this on my laptop as the editing software has been updated to read the /b/ and /c/ partitions on the phone

[edit] CB equipment in use

  • Rig: Moonraker FA5000 80 channel
  • Antenna: A 1 metre long "practically indestructable" mobile antenna on a magnetic mount
  • Status: Currently off air as there is no place to put the antenna

[edit] Relating to my computer equipment and home LAN

My router and switch are no longer in use, all connections go through my wireless modem router to reduce lag and packet losses
