Piercing the Heart
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Piercing the Heart a philosophical method employed by the legendary Miyamoto Musashi within the Gorin no sho during the Edo period (17th century) of Japan. If the area of combat is rather tight when it comes to height and breadth, in which you have more difficulty in executing slash movements, you must stab your opponent. You are to elude his strike by showing him the back of your sword, then you are to bring the point of your sword back within a straight line and attempt to stab your opponent in the chest from this position. This technique should truly be applyed when you are very tired or your sword does not seem to be able to cut very well.
