Pictones

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pictones are a Gaulish Tribe on the south bank of the Liger, Limonium was the chief town.

They were fiercely independent for a part, and collaborative with Caesar for an other part, but they were also one of the more civilized tribes. They were known for their timber resources and occasionally traded with the Roman province of Transalpine Gaul.
