  • In the US and Canada, pickle usually refers to a pickled cucumber
  • In the UK, pickle usually refers to a relish or sandwich pickle such as Branston Pickle.
    • However, when referred to in the plural, e.g. (a jar of) pickles, it tends to refer to a variant of the US/Canada version, but which can also contain cauliflower and onion as well as cucumber.
