The Piano Technicians Guild (PTG), based in Kansas City, Kansas, is the official organization of the Registered Piano Technician (RPT). It is considered the preeminent source of expertise in piano technology and service.

The PTG is a trade association with open membership. It states that anyone with a professional or avocational interest in piano technology may join. However, the title of Registered Piano Technician must be earned by passing a series of rigorous examinations.

Non-RPT PTG members are allowed to advertise their PTG memberships and are able to take advantage of the PTG's extensive educational offerings.
