The Phyllanthaceae is a plant family (biology), previously known as subfamily Phyllanthoideae of the Euphorbiaceae. The subfamily Phyllanthoideae was split up from the Euphorbiaceae as a result of lineage analysis. The family comprises 9 tribes, 56 genera and about 1725 species of trees, shrubs and herbs distributed in all tropical regions of the world.
