Phú Thọ Province pronunciation is a province in Vietnam.
Phu Tho is situated at the apex of the triangle Red River delta linking Hanoi with Northern mountainous provinces such as: Tuyen Quang Ha Giang Yen Bai Lao Cai. Viet Tri City is the provincial capital of Phu Tho which is 80 km and 50 km from North-West of Hanoi and Noi Bai international Airport respectively. Natural condition
The total natural area is of 3465 sq. km and with 10 administrative divisions comprising: Viet Tri City Phu Tho Town and 8 districts: Phong Chau Doan Hung Thanh Ba Ha Hoa Song Thao Tam Thanh Thanh Son Yen Lap. The population of 1997 is 1296178 of which urban population accounts for 15% rural population accounts 85%. The average population density is 3706/sq km except Viet Tri City of 21042/sq. km.
There are three big rivers running through the province. They are Red river Lo river and Da river with total length of 200km.

Quality of the ground water is quite good the average flow of 40-50cubic meter/hour in the plain 10cubic meter/hour with hilly region.
The annual average temperature is 23 0c the month of highest average temperature is July (29 0c) the month of lowest average temperature is February (15 0c).
The annual average humidity is 85% the humidity is high in the rainy season (May to Oct.) in the dry season sometimes below 80 0c.
The annual average rainfall is 1800 mm most rain in August less rain in January. The raining usually happens from April to September every year.
Social-economic situation
In the period of 1990 - 1995 the annual increase rate is 72% average increase of agricultural product value is 31% industry 15% and service 117%.
There are 36 central economic units 63 local economic units and 5 foreign investment capital enterprises based on Phu Tho under different fields activities.
The economic structure in 1997 is as follows: agro-forestry: 33.1% industry construction 338% and service 331%.
EDUCATION - HEALTH SERVICE - CULTURE

There are 542 schools (8779 classes) of 304326 pupils in which 4 high schools of 30221 pupils 3 colleges and 1 pre-university.
The health service of Phu Tho delivers to 3 lines:
- The quarter line: 269 stations of 1076 beds - The district line: 11 hospitals and 5 stations 100 beds/hospital. - The province line: 5 hospital of 1255 beds.
However because of the shortage of local budget expenditure we would like to call investment capital to upgrade the schools and supplement the medical equipment.
Hung temple (Den Hung) is a beautiful landscape - the national historical vestige where Vietnamese memorizes Hung King because of their contribution to country 4000 years ago. Phu Tho wants to call investment capital so as they can serve tourist's demand in domestic and overseas.
The parallel with the economic development Phu Tho has invested to build SOS village to look after the defective children by the war the orphan children...
