Phoenix Baia Mare was a Romanian football club based in Baia Mare, Northern Romania. They club was established in 1923. The colours were orange and black. Their stadium had a capacity of 2,000.

Phoenix started to play in Romania's Divizia B in the 1934-35 season and after only three years won promotion to Divizia A where they played until 1940 when the Romanian Football Federation cancelled all the official competitions due to the World War II.

Between 1938 and 1940 the club's name was FC Carpaţi Baia Mare.

After the war Phoenix was sent back to Divizia B. In 1947 the club was considered as capitalist by the new communist authorities and dissolved.

In the '50s the club is re-established under the name of Cuprom Baia Mare but playing only in Divizia C and Divizia D.

After the 1989 Romanian Revolution, Cuprom changed its name back to Phoenix and gained promotion to Divizia B in 1993, but dropped back to Divizia C two years later.

In 2000 the club was dissolved due of financial difficulties.

The most famous player who played for Phoenix Baia Mare are Francisc Zavoda, who later played for CCA Bucharest and the winger Lucaciu, who later played for Ferencvaros Budapest.
