Phillip A. Ellis was born in 1968 in Traralgon, [Victoria]], in Australia. He has lived subsequently in Wollongong, Sydney, Armidale and Tweed Heads.

He has been writing poetry since he was sixteen, and has a number of poems published both in print and on the web. He also has a number of articles and smaller prose pieces. His chief interest is poetry and poetics.
