The firm was founded in 1864 as PD Phillips, in Melbourne.
On 14 June 2006, the firm announced that it had entered an exclusive alliance with the international firm DLA Piper.
It is expected that in late 2006, the firm will rebrand and be known as DLA Phillips Fox.
