Philip of Valois, Duke of Orléans

Philip of Valois (born July 1, 1336 at Vincennes - died September 1, 1376 at Orléans), Duke of Orleans, of Touraine and Count of Valois, the fifth son of Philip VI of France of Valois, King of France, and Joan of Burgundy.

His father named him Duke of Orleans in 1344, a newly created Duchy.

On January 18, 1345, he married Blanche of France (April 1, 1328-1392), the daughter of Charles IV the Fair and Jeanne d'Evreux, but they had no children.

He had one illegitimate son, Louis D'Orleans, who became a bishop of Poitiers and Beauvais.

Philip of Orleans died in 1376 with no issue, his title and lands returned to the royal domain.
