Philip Lombardo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Philip "Benny Squint" Lombardo (1911-?) was a New York City mob boss to the Genovese crime family in 1981. Although he was only known to be the boss for only 2 weeks, it is widely believed that Lombardo was the boss all the way back to the late sixties. This is said in FBI tapes between different members of the mafia, like John Gotti. Thomas Eboli and Frank Tieri were said to just be decoys for Lombardo while he ran the family. Because he was reported as boss for such a short period, his name doesn't come up much, which would make him a successful mobster that many would lke to be. He retired from Boss due to poor health.
