Philip Beachy

Philip A. Beachy, Ph.D., is a Professor of Molecular Biology, Genetics and Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Stanford University, and has been an investegator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 1988. His research focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms behind the growth of multicellular embryos, especially the role of the signalling protein Hedgehog. He joined the United States National Academy of Sciences in 2002.
