Philip Bailey (statistician)

Philip J Bailey (born 1953) is a British statistician.

Philip Bailey was born in Essex and raised in Orpington, Kent. He was educated at Eltham College and Cambridge University. He is acknowledged to be one of the major statisticians of his generation. With Peter Wynne-Thomas and Philip Thorn, he was a joint winner of the ACS Statistician of the Year in 1994 for producing the standard reference work "The Who's Who of Cricketers".

He edited the ACS Journal "The Cricket Statistician" from 1987 to 2004 and was a member of the ACS Committee (1973-1976) and (1982 to date). He is the Chief Statistician for the "Wisden Cricketers' Almanack" and has worked for Cricinfo and currently for CricketArchive.
