Philbert Simon de Torres is a Filipino-Canadian musician, composer, actor, independent film director and producer.

Born in Batangas City Philippines, August 6, 1982, he is the first child of Fredelito de Torres and Emily Comia. Fredelito was a champion Karate-ka and his love for Martial Arts passed down to his son, Philbert. Interestingly enough, Philbert incorporates his knowledge of Martial Arts onto most his arts. You can notice it from the simplest things such as his showmanship in singing to the films he directs.

Philbert and his family reunited with the rest of the de Torres clan in Canada in 1992.

His first appearance on television was for a pilot tv show (CBC) called Secret's Out. He attended Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School, a Private-Catholic School in British Columbia Canada, where he starred as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, his first musical theatre showing.

Philbert appeared on the first season of Canadian Idol (CTV). He was one of the original Top 32 contenders in Canada. His Top 32 song was My CheriƩ Amour (Stevie Wonder).

Philbert also appeared in Pinoy Pop Superstar (GMA). Philbert represented Canada and became part of the eight grandcontenders. During the year of 2005, Philbert had a brief stint as a regular on some of the network's television shows.
