Phil Verchota (born December 28, 1956) in Duluth, Minnesota was an American ice hockey forward.

Phil is best known for being a member of the Miracle On Ice 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team won the gold medal team. Phil was also a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic hockey team. He played with the US National Team program in 1982-83, and spent the 1980-81 season with Jokerit of the Finnish league. After the 1984 Olympics, Verchota retired from the pro hockey ranks.

Phil attended the University of Minnesota.
