Phil Gallie

Philip Roy Gallie (born June 3, 1939, Portsmouth, England) is a Scottish Conservative and Unionist Member of the Scottish Parliament.
Gallie's political career began as a local councillor and then as Member of Parliament at Westminster for the Ayr constituency from 1992 until losing his seat at the 1997 general election. A vice-chairman of the Scottish Conservative Party, he was elected to the Scottish Parliament to represent South of Scotland at the 1999 election. He was re-elected in the 2003 election.
He is the Scottish Conservative spokesman on constitutional affairs. He will not be standing for re-election in 2007 and intends to focus on his ambition of becoming a Member of the European Parliament.
