Phi Rho Alpha

Phi Rho Alpha (ΦPA) is the first local sorority founded at the University of Michigan.

On July 30, 2005, Phi Rho Alpha was founded with four members, including founder Nicole DiPaolo and co-founding president Sarah Daniel. Its first pledge class was initiated in January of 2006 with 7 new women. The sisterhood grew to 26 women within the first year.

  • Symbols: Climbing ivy and the pyramid
  • Open motto: Friendship rooted in individuality
  • Colors: Sunset pink and aquamarine
  • Mascot: White wolf
  • Flower: Pink magnolia
  • Jewel: Alexandrite

The purpose, as written in 2005 by co-founder Sarah Daniel is as follows.
