Phi Kappa Pi (ΦΚΠ) is Canada's oldest and Canada's Only National Fraternity. As a Canadian fraternity, the brothers from PKP reflect the diversity associated with Canada varying of different backgrounds and nationalities. Established in 1913, PKP has built a reputation based on tradition, loyalty, respect, and brotherly love. In addition, PKP has given many brothers a home for those who didn’t have one, a family for those who never knew one or never wanted to, and provides exceptional role models who understand what sacrificing is as many brothers went to both World Wars and never came back.
[edit] History
In 1913, the union of two distinct, yet equally driven Greek societies: Alpha Beta Gamma (ΑΒΓ) at McGill University in Montreal, and Sigma Pi (επ) at the University of Toronto became the founding chapters of PKP. Their goal was to create Canada's first national fraternity based on the common goals and principles shared by the founding Brothers. Over the years, membership has risen and fallen, chapters have been founded and folded, but those same goals and principles have stood the test of time. Other chapters which have been created include:
Zeta Gamma Chapter (ΖΓ) at Dalhousie University in 1923,
Alpha Iota Chapter (AI) at the University of British Columbia in 1924,
Delta Mu Chapter (ΔM) at the University of Alberta in 1930,
Tau Sigma Rho Chapter (ΤΣΡ) at the University of Manitoba in 1935,
Alpha Epsilon Chapter (AE) at the University of Waterloo in 1967,
Theta Kappa Omicron Chapter (TKO) at the University of Ottawa in 1999,
Omega Iota Chapter (ΩΙ) at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in 2006
