I've known Ms. Norelli-Bachelet (Thea) since l985 and my article published in LIFE POSITIVE (Feb 2003) gives an introduction to my relationship to her as student. As the Director of Aeon Centre of Cosmology the objective of all her publications is the application of the yoga of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother of Pondicherry in the world today. One of her primary keys of knowledge, the Gnostic Circle, is the result of this applied cosmology and stands unique in the history of yogic research. She uses the term 'Solar Line' and calls herself 'the third in this line'. Never has she desired to promote herself or gain followers. Never has she stated that she is to replace the Mother or Sri Aurobindo. Never has she wished to take over the Sri Aurobindo Ashram or Auroville or any place else. Since l971 she has been solely occupied in keeping a record of her yoga, and she writes from this authority. She is a leading propponent in showing the relationship between the mystical doctrine of the Vedas and the Integral/Supramental yoga. Her teachings regarding the use of the Tropical Zodiac as the demarcation for the celebration of annual festivals has recently been recognized by Tamil Pundits. Mr. Sai Srinivasan, Executive Officer of the Temple Administration of Tamil Nadu, gives permission to reproduce a recent email to her: 'Dear Madam... we are much happy to celebrate this transit of Jupiter. We are indebted to you. We felt some sort of bliss during the celebration. Many people are prepared to follow your words. Thanking you...' It is this wide vision and original genius that is attracting attention from serious thinkers around the world. In recent years Ms. Norelli-Bachelet found herself to be the object of slander and bad will -- perhaps this is to be expected toward someone of her stature. However, it became necessary to find the source of these fictitious statements and to counter them with true facts. That others interpret this defense as aggression seems short-sighted. She has been close to some of the Trustees of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram; letters on file attest to a deep respect for her knowledge. Many of her early books were printed by the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Press. Her books and collection of articles are in their Archives for all to puruse as well. To claim that nobody in the Ashram takes her seriously is false. Patricia R Heidt, PhD
