[edit] category

Hi. Please don't be discouraged by my revert of your attempted application of a category to the Jesus article. It is my hope that the trend can be averted, which has recently appeared, wherein categories are used to argue for a particular interpretation or perspective. While I agree with you concerning the identity of Jesus, if we use the category feature to advertise our faith, then others will use it to advertise their unbelief or outright hatred. There are better and nobler ways available.

There is no guarantee that if Christians restrain themselves, other Wikipedians will follow the example. However, it takes little imagination to predict the mess if we don't restrain ourselves. I hope that I've helped you to see the reasoning behind my action. — Mark (Mkmcconn) ** 15:43, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your departure

I am sincerely sorry that you believe it is necessary to leave Wikipedia. I hope that eventually you will reconsider. I also find working here extremely frustrating, at times, and I search my conscience as you have, to justify spending my spare moments working cooperatively with people who hate everything I believe and stand for. Rather than seeking escape from the problem, I have judged this a worthwhile experiment in Christian living. I have asked myself, is it possible to accomodate unbelief (as an anomaly in God's world), without acquiescing in it? May I befriend those who hate my very priniciple of life, without betraying that principle? And I have found that to an extent it can be done; and the exercise has been helpful to me also in the face-to-face world, too. It is hard, and a constant trial of conscience; but, it also is helpful toward patience, gentleness, fairness and a less fearful encounter with the world. I'll be looking for your return, hopefully. — Mark (Mkmcconn) ** 18:16, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
