Phan Huy Quat

Dr. Phan Huy Quat served as Prime Minister of South Vietnam and also as Prime Minister of the Republic of Vietnam.

In 1964, Phan was appointed by Air Marshal Nguyen Cao Ky to form a new government after General Nguyen Khanh was forced to step down as head of the government and re-assigned as ambassador to France.
In 1965, Nguyen Cao Ky was appointed Prime Minister and Nguyen Van Thieu became President by a special joint meeting of military leaders following the voluntary resignation of civilian President Phan Khac Suu.
