Peyote stitch

Peyote stitch (also known as Gourd stitch) is the name of an off-loom bead weaving technique with several variations, such as;

  • Even Count Flat Peyote
  • Odd Count Flat Peyote
  • Even Count Tubular Peyote
  • Odd Count Tubular Peyote
  • Flat Round Peyote

It is not known exactly where and when the stitch was invented. Examples are found in both Native American and African culture.
