Petulia is a British drama film filmed in San Francisco, California, and released in 1968. The film was directed by Richard Lester (who had also directed A Hard Day's Night). Petulia was written by Lawrence B. Marcus, and based on a novel by John Haase. Academy Award winning actors George C. Scott and Julie Christie star in the movie.

The film begins with physician Archie Bollen (Scott) divorcing his wife. He meets Petulia Danner (Julie Christie) at a charity event, who throws herself at him and later announces her intention to marry Bollen, though she is already married herself. One afternoon, Bollen finds Petulia savagely beaten in her apartment.
