Petrovsk (Russian: Петро́вск) is a town in Saratov Oblast, Russia, located on the Medveditsa River (right tributary of the Don) 104 km north-west of Saratov at . Population: 33,956 (2002 Census); 34,778 (1989 Census).
Founded in the end of the 17th century as a village, it was reorganized into a fortress by Peter the Great in 1698. The settlement around the fortress was named Petrovsk after the tsar. Town status since 1780.
