Petra Schersing (nèe Müller) (born 18 October 1965 in Quedlinburg, Saxony-Anhalt) is a former German athlete with the DDR. She won eight medals in the 400 metres and 4 x 400 m relay in international competition.
At the 1988 Summer Olympics she won the silver medal in the 400 m, between Soviets Olga Bryzgina (gold) and Olga Nazarova (bronze). She won the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 m relay, with teammates Dagmar Neubauer-Rübsam, Kirsten Emmelmann, and Sabine Busch. She is married to fellow Olympic runner Matthias Schersing.
