Peter Moore (music producer)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Moore (music producer) is noted as the producer of The Trinity Session. The Trinity Session is a 1988 album by Cowboy Junkies, their second album.

The album was recorded at Toronto, Ontario's Church of the Holy Trinity on November 27, 1987, using one stereo microphone connected to a Beta VCR.

The album was released in early 1988 on Latent Records in Canada, and rereleased worldwide later in the year on RCA Records. The recording moguls were caught off guard by the 250 dollar cost of the recording session. After the two-million sales success of this album, Moore became noted for his efficient use of technology to honour the individual contributions of each musician in the group, and to create a whole that was greater than the sum of the parts.

He also distinguished himself as a leader in the art of re-mastering. He has been sought after by numerous artists, for example Randy Bachman, Ian and Sylvia Tyson, to digitally capture the original essence of their recordings from vinyl.
