Peter Heine Nielsen (born May 24, 1973) is a Danish chess player.

He became an International Grandmaster in 1994.

By September 2005 his ELO rating in the FIDE list was 2668, the highest rating for any player from the Nordic countries.

On January 30th, 2004 he played against Chessbrain - which earned the world record for the largest distributed chess computer.
