Peter Gillespie (born May 11, 1974) is an Irish cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He has played for Ireland since 1995, and featured in Ireland's inaugural ODI match in 2006. His brother, Mark Gillespie, played first-class cricket in 2000.
Gillespie has played in the ICC Trophy in 1997, when he debuted against Gibraltar, and 2005, where he picked up a man of the match award against Canada as an accolade for his innings of 64 not out.
Amongst Gillespie's accolades include an ICC Intercontinental Cup final victory against Kenya which saw Ireland win despite hefty centuries from Steve Tikolo and Hitesh Modi.
Despite a calamitous run of form in the summer of 2006 which saw Gillespie register three consecutive ducks in each of Ireland's One Day Internationals against England, Scotland and the Netherlands, Gillespie was named in the 14-man party which will participate in the World Cricket League and Cricket World Cup early in 2007.
