Peter Dubovský

Peter Dubovský (May 7, 1972 — June 23, 2000) was a football striker from Slovakia.
He debuted for the Czechoslovakian national team in 1991, at the age of 19. He scored 6 goals in 14 matches before Czechoslovakia was dissolved, and representing the new Slovak team he became their record scorer with 12 goals in 33 caps (the record has since been broken by Szilárd Németh).
His club career started in FK Vinohrady Bratislava, and eventually got a transfer to SK Slovan Bratislava. In 1993 he became the first Player of the Year of the newly-formed Slovak league, and earned a transfer to Spanish giants Real Madrid. He played there from 1993 to 1995, when he was sold to Real Oviedo. He died in a diving accident on Ko Samui, Thailand on June 23, 2000.
