Peter Black (Welsh politician)

Peter Black (born 1960) is a Welsh Liberal Democrat politician, and Member of the Welsh Assembly for South Wales West Region.
He is currently chairman of the Welsh Assembly Education Select Committee, and is the education spokesman for his party in Wales.
Black, who is based in Swansea, is active in local Swansea politics, and continues to be a city councillor. He is known as an active Liberal Democrat activist in the city, and stood in Swansea East at the 2003 Assembly elections, coming second.
After Charles Kennedy's resignation in 2006, Black supported Simon Hughes in the ensuing leadership contest.
