Pete Michaud is a writer and reviewer for Nintendo Power. He has been on and off of the magazine, and has only appeared in two issues since March 2006 (Issues 204and 206). When a fan inquired about his whereabouts in the Pulse section of the magazine, this was the response:

“Contributing writer and crack commando Pete Michaud was sent to prison by a military court for a crime he didn’t commit. He promptly escaped from the maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, he survives as a soldier of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire...Pete Michaud ”

Then, below the answer, there is a photo feturing Steve Carrell, Mr. T, and others, with Michaud’s face superimposed into the group.

However, Michaud’s real reason for his on-and-off appearance in the magazine is unexplained.
