Pete Karagianis

Pete Karagianis is a USCF master currently residing in Arizona. He is the founder and current webmaster of the Chess Underground website [1]. He was born in Peoria, Illinois.

He was the Iowa Chess Champion in 2003 and Co-Champion in 2004. He also won the 2004 and 2005 Iowa Quick Chess Championships. He also placed first on the 2005-2006 Illinois Master Tour.

Karagianis is also a chess journalist. His columns have appeared in several state chess journals, including the Oklahoma Chess Quarterly, the Iowa En Passant, and the Illinois Chess Bulletin. He also writes for the Chess Scholar. He is the current editor of the Illinois Chess Bulletin [2], the North American Chess Review [3] and also has created his own magazine, the underground_review.
