Persian Princes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Born in Iran, the 2 members were brought to the UK in the early 80's while Iran was still suffering from the aftermath of the Iranian revolution. Now in their mid 20's they are creating some of the most heartfelt music while still maintaining their political views intact and sending out a strong message using their music in such a subtle way that the listener actually enjoys the politics. According to fans, they are an upcoming group represent the future of Urban Persian militant poetry.

The band was first established in 2004 by Senna-D and POW and it was not until 2006 that they really started to make waves. They have in the past colaborated with artists such as Rapz and have many other colaborations lined up.

The Persian Princes are claimed to be big in the underground rap scene and streets of Tehran, Iran. These claims are not confirmed nor verified and so it would be an exaggeration to hold such claims. The music released by this group though has stirred a lot of talk within the UK/US Persian community. Online blogs and Persian hiphop websites such as www.persianhiphop.com are where the Princes are most talked about and is where most of the music is distributed.
