Perry Township, Logan County, Ohio

Perry Township is one of seventeen townships in Logan County, Ohio. It is located in the eastern portion of the county. Portions of the village of West Mansfield lie within Perry Township. The unincorporated community of East Liberty also lies within the township. The 2000 U.S. Census found 1,022 people in the township.

Zane Township, on the south;
Monroe Township, on the southwest (touches, but does not border);
Jefferson Township, on the west;
Rushcreek Township, on the northwest;
Bokes Creek Township, on the north;
York Township, Union County, on the northeast;
Liberty Township, Union County, on the east

Perry Township was formed in 1830 from Zane Township. Perry is the name of 24 other townships in Ohio.

The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township clerk, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the clerkship or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.
