Perry Miller Adato

Perry Miller Adato is an award-winning American documentary film producer and director. She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1980 for her film, Picasso: A Painter's Diary. In 1981, she was the first woman ever to win the Directors Guild of America Award (for the same film, tied with The Body Human: The Body Beautiful).
In 1983 and 1987, she again won the Directors Guild of America Award for her documentaries, Carl Sandburg: Echoes and Silences (1982) and American Masters: Eugene O'Neill: A Glory of Ghosts (1986).
