Performance Space 122

Performance Space 122, also known as PS 122, is a not-for-profit arts organization and one of the oldest Off-off-Broadway theaters in New York City. Founded in 1979 in the abandonded Public School 122 building in the East Village, PS 122 has hosted thousands of world-premier and ongoing works by such artists as Spalding Gray, Karen Finley, Eddie Izzard, John Leguizamo, and Ron Athey.

PS 122 houses two stages. Its first floor space (the former school gym) is a small 75-seat black box; its second floor space (the former school cafeteria) is a larger 140-seat black box.

It is located at 150 1st Avenue, at the corner of 9th Street, in Manhattan.
