People's Party of Korea
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
People's Party of Korea(조선인민당) was a moderate left-wing political party created in November 12, 1945 by Lyuh Woon-Hyung. People's Party did not claim being representative to any class, instead it tried to represent the entire Korean people. As Soviet-US Committee failed in 1946, a faction within People's Party called forty-eighters left the party and formed Worker's Party of South Korea in a coalition with Communist Party and New People's Party. People's Party dissolved soon, and Lyuh later formed Socialist Labourer's Party.
