Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex

The Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex, located in downtown Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is the administrative hub of the government of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. At the center of the complex is the majestic State Capitol with its gilt and marble halls, vast rotunda, murals and sculpture, sparkling crystals and gold leaf. The Capitol Complex is the location of classic buildings, parks, plazas, fountains, and celebrated statuary.
The following buildings/sites make up the Capitol Complex:
- Pennsylvania State Capitol, built in 1906
- Labor and Industry Building, built in 1955
- Health and Welfare Building, built in 1955
- Commonwealth Keystone Building, built in 2001
- South Office Building, built in 1921
- North Office Building, built in 1928
- Northwest State Office Building
- The Forum, a 1,763-seat concert and lecture hall built in 1930-31, home to the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra since 1931.
- The State Library of Pennsylvania, built in 1931
- Finance Building, built in 1939
- Commonwealth Judicial Center, under construction (2008)
- Transportation and Safety Building, built in 1963 and demolished in 1998 to make way for the Commonwealth Keystone Building
- Pennsylvania State Archives, built in 1964
- State Museum of Pennsylvania, built in 1964
- Matthew Ryan Legislative Office Building, built in 1893 (oldest structure of the Capitol Complex)
