Pennsylvania Route 31 is an 64 mile long state highway located in Western Pennsylvania, paralleling U.S. Route 30 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike for most of its length.
PA 31 is a scenic, mountain highway that starts in West Newton (connecting to Pennsylvania Route 136) and travels east through Mt. Pleasant to Donegal to Somerset and connecting to US 30 west of Bedford. Most of the highway is labeled with a 35, 45, or 55 mph speed limit. As of September 2006, the highway was being reconstructed to add 3rd and 4th lanes to parts of the road.
