The successor to Media High School, Penncrest is a four-year high school, accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and recognized for excellence in education by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
[edit] Curriculum: An Overview
Penncrest's curriculum offers over 150 courses. Honors and Advanced Placement Program (AP) courses are offered in all major subject areas. Students who successfully complete AP courses are eligible to take Advanced Placement tests and receive college credit for these courses. The school also receives credential credit when students take AP classes with respectable results. Additional vocational courses are offered at Delaware County Area Technical schools and further career education is available at satellite institutions.(Students thus enrolled attend one-half day at Penncrest taking required courses and one-half day at the technical school.) Special education programming is also available for students with special needs.

[edit] Campus Life
There have been many recent renovations to the classrooms and athletic facilities. But they have failed to better the schools facilities. Penncrest has the worst athletics fields in the Central League. The new Gymnasium is poorly designed. The renovations at Penncrest High School leave alot to be desired and are not fair to the students nor to the community.
[edit] Student Life
Events such as the Junior Variety Show, dances, and plays balance the academic with the social.
