Penn State Delaware County

Penn State Delaware County opened in 1967 and is one of 19 Penn State campuses (and 23 total locations) across the state. It is conveniently located at 25 Yearsley Mill Road in Media.
LOCATION: Penn State Delaware County is Philadelphia’s “next-door” neighbor. The 90 acres of parklike grounds lie just 20 miles west of the center of the city. The campus is easily accessible from I-95 and I-476 (the Blue Route), and via SEPTA public transportation.
ALUMNI: Over 7,000 Penn Staters live in Delaware County, and more than 58,000 alumni live in the five-county Philadelphia region.
ACADEMIC SERVICES: The campus offers the first two years of study in most of the over 160 baccalaureate degree programs available at the University. Two associate degree programs (Business and Letters, Arts, and Sciences) also are available. Baccalaureate degree programs are offered in: American Studies; Business; Communication Arts and Sciences; Communications; Elementary Education; English; Human Development; Information Sciences and Technology; Organizational Leadership; and Letters, Arts, and Sciences.
ENROLLMENT: When it opened in 1967, the campus enrolled 236 students. It had 11 faculty members and 600 volumes in its library. Today, over 1,700 students are enrolled at the campus and are served by a full time faculty of over 70 and a library containing more than 50,000 volumes. In addition, several thousand residents are served annually through Continuing and Professional Education outreach programs which meet at the campus and at other facilities in the city of Philadelphia and its suburbs.
