Penia

In Plato's Symposium, Penia was the personification of poverty. She married Porus at a feast. She was sometimes considered the mother of Eros.


Penia is also a sweet Easter Bread from rural Italy passed down through an American family with those Italian roots. See also: Recipe for Penia
