[edit] Boundaries

Pendle mainly compromises the towns of Nelson and Colne, with smaller towns like Barnoldswick and Earby added since boundary changes in the 1970s brought them into this area of Lancashire from Yorkshire. It is mostly favourable to Labour although the Tories have won the seat in good years for them.

[edit] Boundary review

Following their review of parliamentary representation in Lancashire, the Boundary Commission for England decided to make only minor changes to the seats in East Lancashire. The new Pendle constituency will contain only those wards within the district boundary, meaning the district council area is co-terminous with the parliamentary boundary.
