Pendas Fields

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pendas Fields is a private housing estate in Leeds, West Yorkshire. It is considered part of Cross Gates, as is Manston. Stanks and Swarcliffe are close, and Cock Beck runs nearby.

Pendas Fields and Barnbow Wood may have been the site of the Battle of Winwaed in 655AD (thus the name "Pendas fields" named after the King of Mercia who died at the battle, Penda), and has its own sports centre and school - John Smeaton Community High School.
