Pencil trick
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The pencil trick is a method of decreasing circuit resistance to allow more power to pass through the circuit.
When overclocking, more voltage is needed and a technique to avoid hard wiring a variable resistor in the circuit is to use a #2 pencil to create a graphite conductive trace on a resistor or between legs of a microchip.
Example: A 20KΩ resistor on a motherboard or video card can be readjusted by creating a small trace between the two ends lowering the electrical resistance on that path. The heavier the line the lower resistance will be.
