Peire Cardenal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Peire Cardenal (1180 - 1278) was a Provençal troubadour known for his satirical pieces and for his dislike of the clergy.
Peire Cardenal was born in Puy-en-Velay, apparently of a noble family; he was educated as a canon himself. Around a hundred pieces of his remain, a number rarely matched by other poets of the age.
